Viburnum - Forest Rouge Blackhaw
The Forest Rouge Blackhaw Viburnum, Viburnum prunifolium 'McKRouge', is a trademarked selection made by Dan Moore at Mckay Nursery. This shrub has a dense, more oval, upright branching form than the species. The foliage emerges yellow green and ages to a dark, shiny green. Dark red young stems are a lovely contrast to emerging yellow-green foliage. Flat-topped clusters of creamy white flowers appear in mid-May, followed by blue-black fruit which can persist into fall. 'Forest Rouge Blackhawk' has an outstanding maroon fall color, for which the plant is appropriately named. It requires part shade to full sun and prefers sandy loam to some clay, but does best on well-drained sites with better than average moisture. . ... additional info
