Phlox - Shortwood
Phlox Shortwood, Phlox paniculata 'Shortwood' (PP#10,379), has large clusters of bright pink flowers that contrast nicely with the dark green foliage. Highly mildew resistant foliage remains attractive all season. Butterflies and hummingbirds love the sweet fragrance and bright color. The individual flowers are packed into 6-12" long pyramidal clusters atop stiff, upright stems that seldom need staking. 'Shortwood' is excellent for fragrant cuts, or in borders or mass plantings. The foliage is dense and compact and deep green. Plant in rich, well-drained soil in full sun or light shade. Long mid to late summer bloom sometimes extends into early fall. The flowers are fragrant and showy, with brilliant non-fading colors. . ... find out more
