Spiraea - Flaming Mound
The Flaming Mound Spiraea, Spiraea japonica 'Flaming Mound', is a medium compact bushy with foliage that emerges flaming red, then ages to a golden yellow. It produces an abundance of small showy, longlasting flowers that are a stunning dark pink-red color. 'Flaming Mound' will re-bloom if deadheaded, and it has excellent coppery-orange-red fall color. This spiraea is fast growing and good for filling a space in a shrub border. 'Flaming Mound' prefers full sun and well drained soil. Prune to 1/2" in March or early April, then prune old blossom heads off in June after bloom for a neater look and better secondary bloom. . ... additional info
