False Indigo - Starlite Prairieblues™

False Indigo Starlite Prairieblues, Baptisia 'Starlite Prairieblues™' PPAF, is the second introduction to the lovely Prairieblues™ series of Baptisia. The dramatic 24 inch long flower stems resemble huge lupine flowers and make great cut flowers. In late spring, the deep violet-lavender buds of 'Starlite Prairieblues™' PPAF unfurl into lovely periwinkle-blue blooms with contrasting butter-cream keels. The profusion of flowers rise just above the well-maintained foliage. Looks great even when not in bloom! Baptisia look attractive on their own, against walls and fences, or combined in a border with other June bloomers. Grow in average to dry soil, but adapts to most conditions. Baptisia has a very deep tap root, giving it the ability to survive long dry periods and making it a challenge to move once it is established. Move in the early spring if you must.
