Progress No. 9 Organic Pea is a large pod shell pea. These pea plants are small 20" plants that need minimal staking; great for containers. Progress No. 9 has large yields of dark green peas with excellent flavor. Select a site with full sun and well-drained soil. Plant pea seed early in spring as soon as the soil can be worked, and harvest before hot, early summer days occur. Grow on a trellis or along a fence and harvest continuously when ripe to encourage greater yields. Start training the tendrils onto the supports when the plants are about 6 inches tall.
