Onions - Bunching Onion - Red Bunching
Bunching Onion (Seeds) Red Bunching is a non-bulbing, singled stemmed, long red onion. It can be spring or summer planted. Sow thinly in an open sunny area. Thin out when they are 2 inches high, to 1 inch apart. After six to eight weeks thin plants still further so that those remaining are 4 to 6 inches apart. It is a welcome addition to any salad or culinary display with its bright red attractive stalks. Red Bunching has a mild flavor with crisp flesh when pulled young. If thinned out, it will produce larger, red skinned bulbs. Start to harvest by using the thinnings to make tasty additions to a salad. Hoe and hand-weed as soon as the seedlings emerge.
