Lamium - Ghost
Lamium Ghost, Lamium maculatum 'Ghost', has a large mound of all silver leaves, which becomes is a great backdrop for its attractive clusters of bright orchid purple flowers. Lamium 'Ghost', introduced by Intrinsic Perennial Gardens, stands 1' tall and the leaves are large, measuring 1. 5" long compared to . 5 - . 75" long on the other varieties. 'Ghost' is an excellent groundcover and is also deer and rabbit resistant. Lamium prefers a semi-shady dry area with well-drained soil, but will tolerate a wide range of soils and moisture. It is best to cut this plant back after the first bloom to promote compact growth. Plant in a well-drained soil and do not allow it to dry out. Use Lamium in hanging baskets, in mixed containers, trailing over walls or as an edger, but spread must be controlled. ‘Ghost’ looks great among hostas, ferns, lungworts bulbs and wildflowers.
