The Giant Crocus 'Vanguard', Crocus, has bi-color flowers of mauve and grayish-light mauve. These are jumbo size bulbs imported from Holland! Colorful crocus are the first sign that spring is on its way. Use Vanguards in borders or edging; in groups of a dozen, hundreds or thousands for naturalizing; in the grass, woodlands, slopes.

They bloom in early spring and have a 3 week bloom period. Crocuses perform best in a sandy, well-drained soil. Crocus bulbs remaining in the ground will always bloom a bit earlier than the ones planted the previous year. For a massive effect, plant in great sweeps of 100 to 150 bulbs. Use them in rock gardens, ground covers, containers, mass plantings and borders.
